The predecessor of Murata New Energy (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. was Sony Electronics (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. On September 1, 2017, the Sony Group completed the transfer of the battery business to the Murata Manufacturing Group, and on November 22 of the same year, it was officially renamed Murata New Energy (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. As one of the important strategic deployments of the Murata Group's new energy business, the completion of the new factory plans to increase the annual production capacity to 132 million new energy lithium batteries, which is 1.6 times the previous Wuxi company's production capacity and output value. Mainly used in high value-added electronic equipment and mobile electronic products such as cameras, tablet computers, notebook computers, electric bicycles, vacuum cleaners, game consoles, electric tools, etc. According to the internal structure, new energy lithium batteries are divided into two types: gel (Laminate-type) and liquid (Metal can-tape). Gel-type lithium-ion secondary batteries have the advantages of high safety, lightness and thinness, and various sizes; liquid-type lithium-ion secondary batteries have the advantages of high output and large capacity.

In the era of rapid growth of the smartphone market, the entire electronic parts industry has shared a cake.
